An essential piece of jewelry for collectors and design lovers: To mark the company's 60th anniversary, Flos has launched its legendary design icon, the Flos Arco floor lamp, in an extraordinary special edition. Available in a limited edition of only 2,022 pieces , the Flos Arco Limited Edition already represents a piece of design history that enhances the private living room as well as the exquisite lobby and the stylish executive office.
What is special about the Arco K from Flos? Instead of the base made of white Carrara marble, the limited edition has a base made of lead-free crystal glass. This gives the floor lamp a unique, translucent aesthetic. This is because the Arco K illuminates its own structure and leads the eye from the characteristic arch to the elegant crystal base. As crystal glass has excellent light-conducting properties, the base is bathed in the light of the lamp and enveloped in a beautiful shimmer.
The Arco K 2022 Limited Edition is handcrafted by Flos' team of artisans using innovative processes that did not exist 60 years ago. After the crystal base has been shaped and drilled, it is painstakingly smoothed and polished until it shines with perfect brilliance. Finally, each floor lamp is engraved with its individual unique number.
Otherwise, the Arco is just as you know and love it: The light source can be directed as required using the telescopic shaft and adjustable head. The floor lamp is operated via a cord switch.
With its projecting arc and zoned light emission, it bathes reading areas and sofa islands as well as dining tables in a cozy light. To move the luminaire, a rod, for example a broomstick, can simply be passed through the drilled hole.
The original Flos Arco floor lamp was developed in 1962 by the Italian designers Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni. As one of the first arch lamps, it immediately impressed the public and developed a radiance that made it a true design icon. Even today, it occupies a special place in the home and contract sector and can be found in museums all over the world.
