Louis Poulsen Panthella 250 LED table lamp: highly decorative in color and shape
The Panthella 250 is the smaller version of the classic lamp of the same name from 1971, which was designed by Danish designer Verner Panton in collaboration with Louis Poulsen. The organic shape of the lamp, the dome-shaped shade, and the trumpet-like base are based on the original version from the 1970s. However, the Panthella Mini measures only 25 cm in diameter, opening up new possibilities for use.
The table lamp can not only gently illuminate dressers and tables, but also smaller surfaces such as shelves, sideboards, and window sills. Stepless dimming and energy-efficient LEDs with a warm white light color make the beautiful retro design of the Louis Poulsen Panthella 250 LED fit for the 21st century.
While the original Panthella table lamp had an opal acrylic shade, the shades of the versions offered here are made of metal. This corresponds to the original design idea of Verner Panton, who wanted to have the lamps produced with metal shades. The metal shades of the Louis Poulsen Panthella 250 LED table lamp are painted white on the inside and direct the light downwards, where it hits the swinging base and is reflected into the room.
The Panthella 250 is the result of a pioneer in lighting design: Verner Panton demonstrated a special sense of form, color, and the influence of light in his designs. He is considered a pioneer of organic design and, unlike his Scandinavian colleagues, preferred to use innovative materials such as plastic, Plexiglas, steel, and fiberglass.
The dynamic shapes and colors of his creations attracted a great deal of attention in the 1960s and 1970s and are still a real treat for the eyes today.
