With the Panthella Portable lamp The Originals, Louis Poulsen pays tribute to the extraordinary design legacy of Verner Panton. To mark his 100th birthday, this special edition has been created, reinterpreting the original colors of the Panthella from the 1970s in a contemporary, portable form. Bright orange and red, deep green and brown, and an elegant blue-gray meet the characteristic chrome stand – just as Panton designed the lamp in 1971.
The Panthella 160 Portable is a compact, cordless version of the famous Panthella table lamp and retains its iconic design language. Both the shade and the base act as reflectors, creating a particularly soft, glare-free light. The opal shade allows the light to shine through gently while reflecting it downwards, creating warm, atmospheric lighting. When switched on, the colors of the shade appear bright and vibrant, adding stylish accents to the room.
Thanks to its IP44 protection rating, the rechargeable table lamp is not only suitable for indoor use in living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms, or hallways, but also for bathrooms, conservatories, balconies, and terraces. Whether on a desk, shelf, windowsill, or as a mobile mood light outdoors, the Panthella 160 Portable can be placed flexibly and used in a variety of ways.
The powerful battery integrated into the base is replaceable and provides up to 8.5 hours of light at full brightness and up to 79 hours in dimmed mode. Charging is convenient via a USB-C cable that is discreetly inserted into the base from below. The angled cable disappears discreetly from view, so that the lamp can also be used during charging. A small light indicator in the base shows the current charge status. Please note: Due to its design, the base consists of two parts and always has a visible seam. This is part of the original design and does not constitute a quality defect.
The battery-powered LED table lamp is operated via the characteristic button on the top of the shade. With a light touch of the finger, the lamp can be switched on and off and dimmed to three brightness levels. This intuitive operating concept follows Verner Panton's playful design approach and allows the lighting mood to be quickly adjusted – from functional orientation light to soft, atmospheric light.
