Artemide Tolomeo Parete – buy online – the Tolomeo as a wall lamp

Wall-mounted, freely aimable – the Tolomeo Parete for bedside, office and library

The Artemide Tolomeo Parete transfers the Tolomeo concept to the wall: the same mechanism, the same polished aluminium arms, the same matt anodised shade – but without a floor base, mounted directly on the wall. The two-section articulated arm with spring balance holds any position without a screw lock; the shade can be rotated in all directions. The Tolomeo Parete is the wall version for everyone who wants the precision of the Tolomeo above the bed, in the office or in the library. Leuchtenland is an authorized Artemide dealer and carries the Tolomeo Parete in all current versions.

The Tolomeo Parete at a glance

Tolomeo Parete – the classic wall lamp

The Tolomeo Parete is the direct wall version of the Tolomeo Tavolo: wall-mounted, with a two-section spring balance arm and conical aluminium shade. Arm and joints are made of polished aluminium, the shade of matt anodised aluminium. The wall bracket is compact and leaves virtually no footprint on the floor after installation – ideal for rooms where space is limited.

Tolomeo Parete Diffusore – with fabric shade

The Tolomeo Parete Diffusore adds a shade made of parchment paper or silk satin to the classic aluminium arm – in diameters of 18, 24 or 32 cm. The light output is noticeably softer and more diffuse than with the classic Parete; the shade remains vertically aligned regardless of the arm position. Ideal for bedrooms and reading areas where soft wall light is desired.

Tolomeo Mega Parete – the large wall version

The Tolomeo Mega Parete, created in 2003, is the most expansive wall version: large shades of parchment or silk satin in diameters of 32, 36 or 42 cm, on a long spring balance arm. For representative rooms where the wall lamp is intended to work as a design element and not merely as a light source.

Typical applications for the Tolomeo Parete

The Tolomeo Parete is versatile – wherever a wall-mounted, freely aimable lamp is required:

• Above the bed – as a reading lamp that sits directly on the wall and does not take up bedside table space
• In the office – as a task lamp that can be swung flexibly over the desk
• In the library – targeted light on bookshelves or reading areas
• In the living room – as an accent lamp that can be aimed precisely at a picture, a sculpture or a seating area

Lighting concept with the Tolomeo Parete

Two Tolomeo Parete on either side of the bed replace classic bedside table lamps – space-saving, precisely aimable and consistent in design. Combined with a Tolomeo Tavolo on the desk, a lighting concept emerges that comes from a single design family across multiple rooms. Which model – Parete, Parete Diffusore or Mega Parete – suits your room is something we are happy to clarify by phone, WhatsApp or chat.

Artemide – lighting design from Milan since 1960

Artemide was founded in Milan in 1960. The Tolomeo, designed in 1987 by Michele De Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassina, has become iconic not only as a desk lamp – the family has since expanded to cover all lamp types. The Tolomeo Parete and its variants prove that the Tolomeo concept reaches far beyond the desk.

Frequently asked questions about the Artemide Tolomeo Parete

What is the difference between the Tolomeo Parete and the Tolomeo Braccio?

The Tolomeo Parete is the classic wall lamp of the Tolomeo family with direct wall mounting. The Tolomeo Braccio is a wall-mounted arm that considerably extends the reach of the wall bracket – it allows the lamp to be swung far out into the room. The Parete sits more compactly and closer to the wall; the Braccio offers a greater range of movement.

How complex is the installation of the Tolomeo Parete?

The Tolomeo Parete is mounted using a wall bracket – this requires screw fixings in the wall and an electrical connection (concealed wiring recommended). When installed by an electrician, the effort is minimal. If you have a question about installation, we are happy to advise you.

Which version is better for the bedroom – Parete or Parete Diffusore?

For the bedroom above the bed, the Parete Diffusore is generally the better choice: the shade made of parchment or silk satin produces a soft, non-glaring light that feels more relaxing than the precise aluminium shade of the classic Parete. Anyone who prefers targeted reading light should opt for the classic Parete.

Is the Tolomeo Parete also available with a parchment shade in larger dimensions?

Yes – the Tolomeo Mega Parete is available in shade diameters of 32, 36 and 42 cm, in parchment or silk satin (grey or black). It is suited to larger rooms and representative wall situations where the lamp is intended to serve as a decorative element.
