What is Occhio Touchless Control?
With Occhio Touchless Control, the luminaire communicates via infrared sensors integrated into the luminaire head. The sensors continuously emit infrared waves that are reflected back by a hand within the detection range. From the direction, duration, and type of movement, the control electronics identify the desired command and execute it immediately. The process is invisible and silent – the luminaire responds to the gesture as if by magic.
The gesture control is integrated into the luminaire head and requires no external hardware. A wall dimmer, wireless remote control, or app are not required for basic functions.
Available gestures at a glance
- Switching on and off (all series): A brief swipe motion in front of the sensor switches the luminaire on or off.

- Color Tune – colour temperature adjustment (Mito, Mito linear, Gioia, Taglio): Frame the luminaire head with a C-shaped gesture → colour temperature is adjusted steplessly from 2,700 K (warm white) to 4,000 K (neutral white). To reverse direction, briefly remove hands and guide again.
- Magic Move – height adjustment (Mito cosmo move, Mito sospeso move): Swipe simultaneously with both hands above and below the sensor → the luminaire is now height-adjustable. A further hand movement positions it at the desired height: hand at the underside = luminaire moves up, hand at the top = luminaire moves down.

The Mito sospeso is the only Occhio luminaire available with interchangeable control boxes in three different configurations. Depending on the chosen box, the range of functions expands significantly beyond basic gesture control:
- Sensor box: Self-contained Touchless Control without network connectivity, with additional PRESET memory for brightness and colour temperature (5 brightness levels, 4 colour temperature levels: 2,700 / 3,000 / 3,500 / 4,000 K).
- Air box: Extends Touchless Control with Bluetooth connectivity via Occhio air (Casambi). Via the Occhio air app (iOS/Android), luminaires can be networked, groups formed, and scenes saved and recalled.
